Twin Peaks Brass is a dynamic brass quintet based in Las Vegas, Nevada, founded by local trumpeter Michael Weber. The ensemble features Michael Weber and Hazen Mayo on trumpet, Mitchell Hansen on horn, Dawid Mzyk on trombone, and Troy Hart on tuba.

Michael Weber
Michael Weber is a Las Vegas-based trumpeter, educator, and arranger with over a decade of experience in the local music scene. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he has built a multifaceted career as a performer, teacher, arranger, and drill writer. Weber earned his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2016, and went on to complete a Master’s in Trumpet Performance at the University of Utah in 2022, where he was awarded a full graduate teaching assistantship.
Michael has played with a variety of groups and artists such as: Los Angeles Philharmonic, Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps, Blue Devils International, Henderson Symphony, Lady Antebellum, Eric Marienthal, Allen Vizzutti and many others.
Aside from performing, Michael works extensively with several ensembles on the West Coast - which involves working with drum corps, teaching private lessons, arranging music, and designing marching band shows.
Michael continues to perform and teach around the Vegas area.
Hazen Mayo
Hazen Mayo is a Las Vegas freelance trumpeter originally born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Hazen attended the UNLV School of Music on full-tuition scholarship. In 2016, Hazen graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance at UNLV, where he was exposed to, participated in, and recorded with many ensembles such as: Downbeat Magazine Award-winning UNLV Jazz Band I and II under the tutelage of Dave Loeb and Nathan Tanouye, Contemporary Ensemble under Nathan Tanouye, Latin Ensemble under the direction of Uli Geissendoerfer, and the internationally acclaimed UNLV Wind Orchestra under Thomas G. Leslie. This massive exposure gave Hazen the opportunity to play with world-class instrumentalists, conductors, and vocalists such as: Chuck Findley, Allen Vizzutti, Colonel John R. Bourgeois, Colonel Michael Bankhead, Johan de Meij, Carl Saunders, Bob Sheppard, Eric Marienthal, Bernie Dresel, Ted Atkatz, Mitchel Forman, Kevin Axt, Ed Calle, Brandon Fields, Paul Taylor, George Stone, Marlena Shaw, Ben Vereen, Clint Holmes, Don Cunningham, Laura Taylor, Ronnie Rose, Pia Zadora, and countless others.
Hazen has recorded several albums with UNLV including: The Return, Smoke in Mirrors, Characters, The Four of Us, Extra Credit/Latin Journey II, and Latin Journey I. Hazen has also recorded with The Lique, a jazzy hip-hop quintet, on their debut album Democracy Manifest and sophomore album Times Like These. Hazen also recorded a self-debut with the quartet AP Manifest.
Hazen currently teaches, plays on the strip and gigs with several different acts in Las Vegas.
Mitchell Hansen
Mitchell Hansen has been teaching since 2010. He has been playing Horn for the past 16 years and teaching brass instruments for the past 9. Aside from teaching, Mitchell performs regularly around town. From being a regular substitute with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, he also plays Principal Horn with the Nevada Chamber Orchestra. Mitchell performs regularly with the Twin Peaks Brass, who perform around town regularly, playing anywhere from Weddings, and Churches to Corporate events and parties. Besides being the Horn Player for Twin Peaks Brass, Mitchell regularly performs with many groups around Las Vegas, including Sin City Opera. Besides teaching at Family Music, Mitchell also coaches brass for Las Vegas Youth Orchestras, both the Symphony and the Philharmonic, and regularly teaches masterclasses at many different schools around Las Vegas. Recently Mitchell was invited to audition for the Principal Horn positions of both the New York Philharmonic, and the Chicago Symphony.
Dawid Mzyk
A native of Poland, Dawid Myzk’s performance career as an orchestral trombone player has taken him on tour to Europe, Asia and the US, performing with well-known conductors and top Polish orchestras (Krakow Philharmonic, Krakow Opera). He has taken part in festivals including the Istanbul Muzik Festivali (Turkey), the Easter Ludwig van Beethoven Festival (Poland), and the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut (Lebanon). He has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Kulturpalast Dresden (Germany), Saint Mark’s Basilica in Venice (Italy). He has collaborated with film music composers such as Hans Zimmer, Elliot Goldenthal at Film Music Festivals. Dawid was part of George Curran’s (NY Philharmonic) solo CD “Vital Signs”. At festivals and through lessons, he has studied with the likes of Christian Lindberg, Ian Bousfield, and Jim Markey, and in 2017 placed as a finalist in the American Trombone Workshop’s National Solo Competition (Division 3).
Dawid graduated from the Academy of Music in Krakow and Columbus State University (Graduate Assistant of Dr. Bradley Palmer). He performed with CSU Trombone Octet on the 2017 International Trombone Festival (Redlands, CA) and the 2017 Southeast Trombone Symposium (Columbus, GA). Dawid is recently completed his Doctorate (Teaching Assistant) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas under Professor Nathan Tanouye.
Troy Hart
Troy Hart is a tubist that was born and raised in Henderson, NV. He received a bachelors in music education from UNLV and recorded two CD’s with UNLV’s wind orchestra. He also briefly taught elementary music at Hollingsworth Elementary. Troy now works at Community Ambulance as an AEMT working medical for events, clubs, and 911 calls. When Troy is not playing music or working, he enjoys playing video games and producing music for friend’s side projects.
